Don't you see that these things had to happen, that the Messiah had to suffer and only then enter into his glory?" Then he started at the beginning, with the Books of Moses, and went on through all the Prophets, pointing out everything in the Scriptures that referred to him.

where is Yeshuah in the Torah

Tevet 11, 5771 Brit Chadashah

Weekly Torah Reading

Parashat Vayechi ("and he lived")
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  According to his great mercy,  he has caused us to be born again to a living hope  through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and  unfading,  kept in heaven for you, 5who by God’s power are being guarded  through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by  various trials, 7so that  the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by   fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.   Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9obtaining ) the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

This is a Test: 'Bad People' - God Put Them There Just For Us ...

In every one of our lives there are people who mess with our minds and hearts. Believe it or not, God put them there. They're there for our benefit.

This is no crazy talk. It can be backed up biblically via examples from Joseph to Jesus. Although the Apostle Paul talked about his "thorn in the flesh," that "messenger of Satan" that was sent to buffet him (2 Corinthians 12:7-10), he too knew full well that the truth is God allows these people and challenging situations in our lives for our betterment.

This is Wonderful News
We are not at all very apt at seeing the silver lining to our very near and resplendently dark thunder clouds, are we?

We will most usually struggle to see the 'good news' in people who've set their hearts and minds against us, to expose or depose us. But, if it wasn't for these people we wouldn't have the opportunities to meet the challenges that God knows we can meet. We'd miss vital growth junctures that are part of our God-willed destiny. We can see it as God forming us via eternal discipline.

The writer of Hebrews hit on this very point:
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening - it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
    ~Hebrews 12:11 (NLT).

The point is we have to allow ourselves to be trained in this way. It comes natural to no one.

An Exercise in Execution
We cannot get better at spiritual practice without applying it. We need to get our minds and hearts involved in the practice of new ways of living if we're to master them.

Perhaps this exercise in question - seeing a nemesis as someone sent from the very hand of God - is best accomplished in spending some time reflecting over the role one of these people has played, and is indeed playing in our lives perhaps now.

This is the practice, it is hoped, toward spiritual enlightenment whereby God might tip into us some level of his own holy revelation. We might consequently begin to see the overall purpose of this evil against us in conforming from it, goodness.

myrrh and trade route

Myrrh is the dried oleo gum resin of a number of Commiphora species of trees. Like frankincense, it is produced by the tree as a reaction to a purposeful wound through the bark and into the sapwood. The trees are bled in this way on a regular basis.
The princial species is Commiphora myrrha, which is native to Yemen, Somalia, and the eastern parts of Ethiopia. Another primary species is C. momol. The related Commiphora gileadensis, native to Israel/Palestine and Jordan, is the biblically referenced 'balm of gilead'.

myrrh tree

balm of Gilead (gĭl'ēəd), name for several plants belonging to different taxonomic families. The historic Old World balm of Gilead, or Mecca balsam, is a small evergreen tree (Commiphora gileadensis, also once called C. opobalsamum) of the family Burseraceae (incense-tree family) native to Africa and Asia and the source of the commercial balm of Gilead; it is referred to in the Bible in Jer. 8.22. The Ishmaelites from Gilead were bearing balm when they bought Joseph from his brothers. Balm of Gilead is still in high repute for healing in some countries.

The origins of myrrh and frankincense can be  traced to the Arabian Peninsula. The region which produces frankincense, myrrh, cassia and cinnamon,
The Magi, carrying myrrh, frankincense, and gold, came from the East: Arabia. The frankincense trade route, with transport by donkeys and later by camel caravans, reached Jerusalem and Egypt from the Dhofar region of what is today Oman, through Yemen, turning north to follow the Red Sea coast. It is likely that the same or similar species of the resin-bearing plants grew across the Red Sea in the area that is now Somalia and Ethiopia, while the collection of the gum resins was initiated in Arabia.

We seek God to solve the issues related to material life. Saul was about to receive the greatest opportunity of his lifetime. He was about to be crowned as king of Israel. His life would never be the same. What was he concerned about? His donkeys. We don't have to be worried about the material things of life if we are about the things He's called us to do.
God called Saul to be the next king in order to free the people from the Philistines. God sent a messenger, the prophet Samuel, to inform him of his new career. The messenger also had to ease his mind about his donkeys. Donkeys often represent commerce in the Bible. They were the primary means of transporting goods; therefore, in essence, what was Samuel saying to Saul? He was saying, "You don't need to worry about your business if you respond to the call of God on your life. All the material things will take care of themselves."
When God calls us, it often involves making major adjustments in our lives. Saul went from one kind of business to another. He went from working for his father to being a king.

Anxiety and stress are perhaps the No. 1 cause of muscle twitching, which is also known as benign fasciculation syndrome. Benign means the muscle twitching will not develop into anything serious. Fasciculation is the medical term for muscle twitching. Syndrome means that typically, a lot of muscle twitching is also accompanied by muscle cramps, muscle aches and some tingling. But these other symptoms come on after the person starts excessively worrying that the muscle twitching is a sign of a deadly disease.

We are genetically hardwired to physiologically react to a crisis situation. Our muscles are on standby to jump into action. But contemporary stress is different from ancient stress. Today, we don't need to be ready for the charging bison or hissing snake. But just the same, our bodies are under siege by other forms of anxiety: job stress, paying bills, foreclosure threats, protecting teens from drugs and sex, marital problems, traffic jams, business meetings, etc. It's no wonder that our muscles are always jumping.

God in the Rock

Psalm 105:41
He opened the rock, and water gushed out; like a river it flowed in the desert. NIV
That’s a picture of God’s provision for His people, Israel. In the forty years of their wandering through the wilderness, a dry and barren land where there were no pools, no rivers, no streams, where water was almost non-existent. God provided water for them in abundance. He provided it in a most unlikely way. He provided it out of a rock.
When you look at a rock in the desert as I’ve looked at it countless times, it seems so hard, so unyielding, so little good could come out of it. But in the disguise of the rock we understand that God Himself was with the people. God Himself was the rock and out of Himself there came His provision for His people in abundance.
It was important that Israel knew how to approach the rock. At one time Moses was commanded to strike it. At another time he was commanded to speak to it, and when he approached the rock in faith and obedience, out of that seemingly hard and unyielding rock there came an abundance of water that flowed like a river in the desert.
It’s often so in our lives, where in a time of barrenness when provision seems lacking, but God is there. He’s there in the form of a rock. He’s there in a form of something that seems hard and unyielding, something that we could complain about. But when we recognize God in it and approach Him in faith and obedience, then the rock becomes the source of our provision. - Derek Prince

God provides for whom he sends

1King 17
You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there."
So he went and did according to the word of the LORD. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan.
And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.
And after a while the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land. Then the word of the LORD came to him, ..........
Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you."

Behold the Lord God is our provider

Every Day Is A Good Day

Let me share with you a strategy I use to avoid being flooded with feelings of  gloom,  depression and fear.

Every day is a good day.
But when I'm experiencing a day full of frustrations,
I don't call it a bad day, I call it an "interesting" day.
This habit keeps me From being overwhelmed With negative emotions.

Why does this work?
Repetitive thoughts and words create feelings.
Those feelings create a positive or Negative behavior pattern.

If I tell myself it's a bad day, I began to feel defeated and exhausted.
If my day has one issue after another, If I tell myself it's an "interesting" day.
This keeps me open to gratitude, hope, solutions, Resiliency, and sometimes even a sense of humour.

I try to monitor my words when I'm feeling in a slump so I can avoid those
"knot in your stomach - stressful - anxious - Sickening - I'm losing it" feelings.

I had one of those "interesting" days recently
And reminded myself to stop,Do some deep breathing and re-group.

If you're having an "interesting" day,
Let these words minister to you. Sometimes the children are screaming,
The boss is irritating, The traffic is slow and The bill collectors won't go.

Sometimes you feel strong and confident.
Sometimes you're full of regrets and wonder where all the time went.

Sometimes you feel like you want to give up.
Sometimes you're too tired to move 'cause you have so much to do.

Sometimes you're lonely and wonder if love will ever come.

Sometimes you're glad to be alone to think your own thoughts.

Sometimes life is easy and sometimes hard.

Today be grateful that you've come this far.
Breathe in peace, faith and hope.

All the answers...I do not know. But I'm here to say,
count your blessings. Don't give up. You can make it.

Little miracles happen each day.
Don't miss them because you're focusing On your pain, frustrations and fears.

Constantly work on the five main things you need to live in peace and harmony

1) faith,
2) family and friends,
3) finances,
4) good health
and
5) your life purpose.

Without these in your life... Life can drive you crazy.
