evening outing to the farm

A Story of Baby Sparrow

A little sparrow fell from the nest into a garden, panicking and chirping very loudly running around the bushes. The lady owner over heard the sound and pick it up and kept it in the house.

The anxious mother sparrow came looking for the baby bird, so the owner of the house allow the baby sparrow to roam the backyard, the mummy sparrow led it to fly once but it fail trying to fly out and fell into the drain . so the owner of the house scoop it out from the drain, clean it up.

After the incident the baby sparrow was fed with tasty bird food and it did not have any intention to learn to fly anymore, was it the good food or the failed attempt to fly ?

All the while the mother sparrow was still hanging around the house, anxiously watching over the baby sparrow. With the arrival of another baby bird, the baby sparrow now found a companion to curdle with the whole day. What will happen to this baby sparrow? Will it enjoy the comfortable life it have so much and forsake flying away, to be free to roam in the sky. Indeed to be in the open means times without food, times of danger of being hunted by bigger predator, but this are part and parcel of being a bird, free, life at the fullest as a bird.

Will fear and comfort hinder us from what we are called to be? to live life to the fullest......

Brain Drain

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Os Guinness tells a great story about a Russian factory worker in the days when Khrushchev was the prime minister. Because of the enormous economic strain in those days, employees would steal tools and just about anything else they could get ............

Your Journey . . .
Take a few minutes to read Romans 12:1-2. Prayerfully ask the Spirit to reveal where your thoughts are not God’s thoughts.Take an inventory of the key areas of your life. From reading God’s word, what are God’s thoughts about each of those? Is your thinking in sync with His about the specific issues that exist in each area? If not, what can you do to change the way you think? How will that change the way you act? Be specific. There are certain dynamics that block God’s thoughts from penetrating our thought life: i.e., rationalizing, excuses, self-deceit, wrong desires. What can you do to short circuit these dynamics so that His thoughts can get a grip on your heart? Getting close to God in prayer, the study of His Word, the influence of solid biblical study, taking notes and reviewing them so that you don’t forget are all ways in which we grow to think His thoughts. Select one thought pattern to change today. It will get you off to a great start!

paradox of our time

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller building, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We learn how to make a living, but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years.

Our Daily bread February 27, 2009
Be Still
“Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while” (Mark 6:31).
When we leave the distractions of life behind, we can more easily rest and refocus on God.Are you allowing quiet moments alone with God to be a part of your life?
Do you desire for Him to restore your soul?

Let Him teach you how to “be still.” And listen when Jesus invites you:
“Come aside with Me and rest a while.”

A Psalm of David.
THE LORD is my Shepherd , I shall not lack.

He

makes me lie down in fresh, tender green pastures;

leads me beside the still and restful waters.

refreshes and restores my life.

leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
