Avocado Chicken Tortilla Soup

 
Ingredients & Instructions: 

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, chopped into pieces 
1 Tbsp vegetable oil 1 cup chopped green onions 
1 jalapeño, finely chopped 
2 cloves garlic, minced 
32 oz carton chicken broth 
1 tsp ground cumin 
1/2 tsp kosher salt or to taste 
1/3 cup chopped cilantro 
3 Tbsp fresh lime juice 
2 large avocados, pits removed, scooped out of the shell 
1 Roma tomato, diced (or you could top with salsa) Tortilla chips, monterey jack cheese, sour cream for serving (optional) 

1. Heat the oil in a large sauce pot over medium heat. 
2. Add the onions, jalapeño and garlic. Saute about 2 minutes until the onion has started to soften. 
3. Add in the chicken breasts, cumin, and chicken broth. Let simmer until the chicken is cooked through, 10-15 minutes (it depends on how thick the pieces of chicken were). 
4. Remove the chicken from the pot, then shred it into smaller pieces when it has cooled enough to handle. 
5. In a glass blender jar, puree the cilantro and 1 ½ of the avocados with a portion of the broth until creamy. Add the rest of the broth and pulse a few times to combine. 
VERY IMPORTANT:REMOVE THE STOPPER FROM THE BLENDER LID AND COVER THE LID WITH A KITCHEN TOWEL AND HOLD IT DOWN FIRMLY. IF YOU LEAVE THE STOPPER IN AND THE LIQUID IS TOO HOT, PRESSURE CAN BUILD UP AND THE CONTENTS OF THE BLENDER COULD BLOW THE LID OFF AND COVER YOU AND YOUR KITCHEN IN HOT SOUP. Alternatively, if you have an immersion blender, you could blend the avocado into the broth inside the pot. 
6. Season to taste with salt and pepper (I added 1/2 tsp kosher salt but add more if you use reduced-sodium broth). Add the broth back to the pot if you used a regular blender. 
7. Stir in the chicken and lime juice. 8.Garnish with the remaining 1/2 of chopped avocado, tortilla chips, cheese, salsa or fresh tomato, additional chile, etc etc.

Financial management principles are the same for millionaires and low-income-earners alike. Certainly the numbers your dealing with will change, but the basic principles and processes are still the same.

In fact, by following sound financial management principles and optimizing your frame of mind, you can accelerate the process of building wealth and know how to keep it when you arrive. Here are 7 ideas that will help you think about and manage money like a millionaire, regardless of your income.

1. Be who you want to be. Earning more money amplifies who you are.

I’m going to borrow my first idea directly from my lunch partner who said “earning more money really just amplifies who you are.” While that might seem initially like a good thing, it really is a double-edged sword.

For some, becoming a millionaire leads to a life of over-indulgence and decay. We catch glimpses of this in the popular media and entertainment world; drug addiction, abuse, and infidelity. Blemishes in your character will still be there if you become wealthy. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that having more money will solve your problems. It could make them worse.

On the other hand, if you have a mindset of serving and making a postitive contribution to your family and community now, you will be able to manifest those contributions with even greater power and effectiveness when you’re rich.

By focusing on the positive contribution you want to make in your life, you will be prepared to expand and amplify your contribution as you earn more money.

2. Build your relationships. Earning more money amplifies your relationship dynamics.

 Let me tell you a secret: earning more money does not solve your relationship problems. Even though my income has increased significantly over our 10 years of marriage, we still tend to argue about the exact same financial issues.

If you have bad arguments over $100, just think of the how intense they will get arguing over $10,000 or $100,000. Working out your finances as a couple isn’t about the dollars, it’s about your values.

By making all your spending and budgeting explicit, and by working as a team, you can address those values differences before they get out of control. As you become more wealthy, you’ll have a trusted, agreed-upon system in place to manage your increase.

3. Spend money consciously, but on a macro level.

 Even as a millionaire you should know where every dollar is spent, but you don’t necessarily need to know line-item detail. Rather, you need to know how much is spent within broad, macro-level categories.

Millionaire’s still need to decide how many thousands of dollars they’re going to spend on the “blow” category every month in relation to other expenses. Their blow category may be able to fund a new truck while mine funds a new book, but the decision is the same.

I recently read an article at StevePavlina.com where he talked about his goal of becoming a millionaire. He mentioned that to get in the mindset of a millionaire he would carry hundreds of dollars in cash in his wallet and not fret over $100 purchases.

At first glance, it seemed that he was spending his money irresponsibly. But the fact is you can spend some of your money frivolously and still have total control over your finances. The trick is to simply decide how much you’re willing to blow in relation to the rest of your finances.

If I were a millionaire I may very well give myself and my wife $1,000 in personal money every month. That leaves a lot of room for spending money any way I want, anytime I want.

But looking at my finances as a whole, there will be some limit as to how much I’m really willing to spend this way.

4. Be generous regardless of your income.

If you want to become a millionaire, be generous now. Charitable giving seems to be a universal law that attracts abundance into your life.

Scriptures have taught this principle for ages and even T.V. shows like My Name is Earl jokingly acknowledge the effect of good karma and the golden rule.

Many people deceive themselves thinking “once I have a lot of money, I will give generously to charities,” but don’t make even small charitable contributions today. If you have a hard time giving away $10 now, what makes you think you’ll be able to easily give away $10,000 when you’re wealthy?

Upon receiving some windfall money recently, my wife and I decided to allocate a few hundred dollars to “random charitable acts.” We already donate to our church regularly but felt that we’d like to be able to give to specific people as we felt inspired to do so. We hope this will put us in a mindset of giving.

We can actively be aware of the needs around us and feel empowered to help others financially as needed.

How cool would it be to do this on a large scale? I’ve been inspired by Billion-dollar donations from Bill Gates and Warren Buffet to charitable causes and think it’s a great example of a person’s character amplified.

I recently read about someone who just decided one day to go out in public and start handing out $20 bills to random people. It seems counter-intuitive, but the stronger you grasp money, the harder it is to attract it into your life. In contrast, the more generous you are, the more it will flow into your life.

5. Provide enormous value at work (self-employed or not)

One characteristic most wealthy people I know have in common is that they are totally invested in their business. Whether they earned their wealth by starting their own business or by working for another business, they all are focused on adding enormous value.

Sometimes it’s easy to kick back and waste time when working for an employer. It’s easy to not feel personally invested. But by doing so you’re only hurting yourself. In every job there are possibilities to contribute above and beyond what’s expected.

Those who do tend to expand their influence and are promoted faster. Treat your job like it’s your own business and you’ll find a level of enthusiasm you didn’t know existed. Looking at work through the lens of business ownership, you also may just find yourself aching to start your own business. Either way, you’ll be a happier person and will find that opportunities for advancement and wealth come to you more effortlessly.

6. Plan a “millionaire lifestyle” day.

Imagine what your day-to-day life would be like as a millionaire. Would you get up and go play tennis? Or would you sleep in as late as you want? How would you interact with family and friends? Would you still work but only on projects you love?

Once you have a clear picture in mind, find a day you can take off work and do those activities. Of course, there may be restrictions on how much you can spend, but do as much as you can afford.

By actually doing what you think you’d do as a millionaire, you can take one small step towards turning your thoughts into reality.

Some people may find that they don’t really enjoy the activities as much as they thought. If the reality doesn’t live up to your expectations, re-think things and try again. If you think you’d spend your time running a business, you could use your millionaire day as a way to take massive action towards starting that business.

Don’t just do this once. Schedule a “millionaire lifestyle” day 2 or 3 times a year. Have fun and get a taste of the millionaire life.

7. Build a strong foundation and get ready for your finances to explode.

It’s easy for people to get overwhelmed by the enormity of the task of getting out of debt, paying off your house, and saving for retirement. But what most people don’t think about is that with a focused budget and a debt-reduction plan, there comes a point at which your debt and house are paid off and you’re already saving enough for a comfortable retirement. All of a sudden you’re in a position with no debt, no payments, and possibly thousands of dollars a month of disposable income. Overnight, your famine turns into a feast. That’s when life gets really fun.

While we’re still working on paying off our house, we have already started experiencing this shift. It used to be that we struggled to fund luxury categories like gifts and vacation. Bonuses and cash gifts were used to fund categories that we knew we wanted to budget for but didn’t have enough month-to-month income to fund.

Over the past couple years, we’ve been able to fully fund these categories and windfall money now goes mostly straight to debt reduction.

Soon our second mortgage will be paid off and we’ll be putting that several hundred dollars a month (our payment plus snowball) into our first mortgage. Once the first mortgage is paid off, we should have over $2,000 a month to play with. And that isn’t even taking into consideration any income increases I may have over time. $1,000 a month in personal money doesn’t sound all that far off after all. And I won’t even need to be a millionaire to get it.

8. Recognize your wealth now to attract more into your life.

If you’re reading this blog, chances are you’re more wealthy than the vast majority of the world. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that simple fact.

You are wealthy.

I recently listened to an audio program by Dr. Wayne Dyer where he mentioned that if you were to compare the population of the earth to a village of 100 people and apply the same statistics you would see that 6 of the people (all from the United States) have 59% of all the wealth of the world and that only 1 person would own a computer.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head, and a place to sleep, you are better off than 75% of the world’s population.

By focusing on the wealth you already have in your life, you will attract more of it. If you only think about scarcity and what you don’t have, that’s exactly what you’ll attract. To create wealth, you have to think creatively.

Be a millionaire is a frame of mind. If you’re only after money, you’ll always want more and will never have enough.

If you’re after happiness, you can find it at any moment by changing your focus. By following these guidelines you’ll be able to experience just as much joy and satisfaction as any millionaire. “Money can’t buy me love” nor can it buy happiness.

HUMANITY WELCOME BACK TO FINANCIAL SANITY!

You have entered a new cycle of existence as marked by the Chinese lunar calendar, otherwise known as 2015 A.D. or “The Year of the Sheep.” No longer is humanity to be economically abused, or forced to believe we owe the Central Bankers anything.

OLD BANKING SYSTEM

BRETTON WOODS CONFERENCE (1944)

Most are aware that planet earth has been made to exist in an unsustainable manner for centuries, both in terms of abuse of natural resources and through the use of economic mechanisms via a well entrenched fiat Central Banking System.

But no country, even the USA, can continue to print money without having tangible assets collateralizing debt. Yet this is precisely what the Central Banking System has done. In effect, they have attempted to privatize global wealth, monitoring and restricting the world’s money supply, including bonds, banking instruments, stocks, digital, paper and coin currencies.

This private global monetary control framework was introduced to the world during Bretton Woods Conference in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, June of 1944.

At this conference, NATO introduced a global monetary and military strategy that was agreed to by 44 Allied Nations in treat. “The Allies”, who won the war, declared that the United States of America was world’s liberator, and should also therefore be the world’s future military enforcer and top economic power player. All this, in compensation for winning the war for humanity.

Thus, the USA was granted the right to print the de facto global reserve currency, and called it the United States Dollar (USD), whereby all other currencies of the world would be held in par comparison to determine their own international value.

The almighty USD quickly spread as said de facto global reserve currency—replacing the British Pound Sterling—and the United States suddenly was allowed to “print” as much USD as they deemed necessary without any international oversight, except those same families who owned the Central Banking System.

Knowingly, our own US Congress secretly voted in favor of allowing a new private bank named the Federal Reserve (FED) to print the emerging nation’s physical money for our own United States Treasury. This act of treason was called the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, and the FED alone would be allowed to have full global monetary authority over rest of the world.

This “blank check” mentality that directly financed all of the current global monetary debt/insanity humanity endures today. However, also during Bretton Woods (1944), the NATO Alliance and the United States needed collateral to “put up” in order to launch their world domination plan.

So they asked the Chinese Royal Red Dragon Family, who agreed in the spirit of a greater good vision for reconstruction society in the age of the new world. It was this same Chinese Royal Red Dragon Family who had also funded the American war against the British Empire in the late 1770’s, and why to this day Americans still shoot off Chinese fireworks honoring their gifts every 4th of July.

So the Red Dragons agreed to lend their gold to the Central Bankers for a maximum fifty--year period, ending in 1996 (plus a 5 year transition or grace period, making the back wall return date September 11, 2001).

And with this benevolent act, the global Central Banking System was born, allowing all good standing sovereign nations to borrow redevelopment capital, and/or leverage through trade, in order to rebuild their war torn countries post WW2.

Now to fully understand the amount of gold loaned to the free world by the Red Dragons, one must first understand that gold has been mined across Southeast Asia for over 5,000 years. And these 26 different factions of Red Dragon Families hoard, maintain, grow and protect their assets with unparalleled commitment.

So when they agreed to lend their gold, all be it benevolently in favor of the greater good of humanity, they expected to get it back at some point in time.

So the Central Bankers began leveraging the vaulted gold assets as early as in 1946, and began reconstruction societies worldwide. This was the golden era for America… late 1940’s through the mid--1960’s. Growth and possibility seemed endless in the USA.

But sadly, ultimate power always corrupts ultimately, the central bankers decided to keep the gold for themselves, and began devising a strategy to accomplish this evil end.

So they manufactured a few wars in Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Israel/Palestine, Lebanon Bosnia, Kuwait and Iraq. Then came 9/11, which lead humanity down its current military and financial pathway into Afghanistan, Iraq (again), Egypt, Syria, Israel/Palestine (again), Libya and finally Ukraine.

All of these wars were in directly response to giving the Red Dragons back their collateralizing assets to a rapidly defaulting Central Banking System. This discrepancy built to a head when the Red Dragons demanded payment for derivatives debts on Lehman Brothers in 2007—and insisted that their gold interest must be paid backed.

But when Lehman could not pay off the debt call, the USG declared a global financial emergency, borrowing $700B from its citizens (T.A.R.P.) in order to maintain repayment schedules negotiated by Federal Reserve Bank to the Red Dragons.

As of March 1, 2015, the FED nor the United States of American Corporation (founded in 1871) has the liquidity left to satisfy its debt repayments, and thus have have turned over the USG to White Knight Military leaders within the US Pentagon, and they now run the country’s affairs. This transition has quietly been rolling out going back to 4th quarter 2012.

So if you hear the term “Global Currency Reset” or “Revaluation of Currencies” in the future, simply understand the world is resetting back to an economic balance between sovereign nations, whereby each nation agrees to “revalue their currency” in harmony with a pre--agreed, common gold standard of value to both measure and trade wealth.

NEW BANKING SYSTEM

BRICS ALLIANCE

Now that the Red Dragons have claimed ownership of the Federal Reserve Bank and all its assets through sovereign treaty defaults, our once strong USD has lost all its worldwide credibility and value.

As a result, the Red Dragons have replaced the USD with a new global digital currency called the Treasury Reserve Note (TRN); and they have backed it with gold.

 In essence, stabilizing the US economy, while at the same time replacing the old global reserve currency (USD) with a basket of new global reserve currencies, headlined by the Chinese Renimbi/Yuan (RNB/CYN) respectively.

All smaller sovereign countries, once completely dependent upon the almighty USA and FED to determine their own country’s currency value—have been released from economic bondage and allowed to revalue their currencies against a gold standard.

Meaning, long sanctioned and war torn countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, Iraq and Zimbabwe are all getting new economic life, as the leaders of the old banking system give way to new, more moral leadership. Although just replacing the banking is not enough, as bad habits die--hard.

So along with a new gold back currency must also come new political leadership, approved by the BRICS Alliance, which formed after the market crash in 2007 for precisely this purpose.

BRICS is an acronym representing the nations of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and their economic resources united together, have replaced the United States as the world’s leading economic power, as well as the USD as the global reserve currency by which all other currencies are valued as equal.

Born out of necessity, the BRICS Alliance Redevelopment Bank was thrust into the spot light with a 100B endowment from all participating alliance members.

This new global monetary lending source has all but replaced and eliminated the need for the private Central Banking System old control mechanisms, namely the International Monetary Fund and World Bank—both of which were created during the Bretton Woods Conference circa 1944.

The new BRICS Alliance lays claim to over three billion in total population, 60% GDP and controls vital transportation, military and natural resources in several strategic locations across Asia, Africa, and South America.

The BRICS Alliance, and their growing list of allies, has gained much needed economic and military autonomy from the once dominant US, NATO and European Union collation.

But how did the BRICS Alliance accomplish such a Global Currency Reset without the whole world knowing, given the violent push back from said private Central Banking Families and their minions?

Well, first they quietly audited all global debt, and then prepared to collateralize all debts against their own gold reserves. This meant that the Red Dragon Elders had to agree to put up the physical gold to cover the entire world’s debt! Hard to believe, but none--the--less true, as that is precisely what happened.

 Their leader known only as “Grandfather,” recently agreed to release the collateralizing gold reserves in greater good service to humanity. And for this humanity is eternally grateful. Thank you Grandfather!

OLD BENCHMARK VALUE

To understand how and why currencies historically redeem, it’s wise to first look at the base monetary value and how that standard is assigned. First, one must look at the intrinsic universal value of gold historically, and accept that gold is now, and has always been a currency.

Also, consider that all in--ground assets, including oil, gems, minerals, and precious metal are all traded like currency since the beginning of modern commerce.

Meaning, just as physical gold bullion or coins were once was traded for everyday goods like we do today with paper or digital currencies, in theory, that never stopped. In fact, the new gold standard will see individuals exchanging physical gold for actual goods and services, including transactions between governments.

This is why the world going back to the old gold benchmark is so dramatic, and why it had to become the new benchmark by which all value is measured, as opposed to Central Bank issued notes, sovereign bonds, banking instruments, derivatives, credit cards and local fiat currencies. They insurmountable debt those fiat philosophies created were crippling, irresponsible and immoral.

Thus, every monetary unit of value now has a real equity relationship to gold, with all either moving towards or away from the gold standard’s 1:1 ratio. Thus, the citizenry of the world is again playing on a level economic playing field.

However, to achieve such global harmony, all currencies must first adjust or “revalue” to an accurate and equitable gold standard. Some currencies will do so publically and immediately—and be in a “first basket of revaluations” such as the Iraq Dinar, Vietnam Dong, Zimbabwe Dollar and Indonesian Rupiah. While others will gradually and quietly transition as to not upset the masses or global money supply algorithms.

Once a currency is adjusted or is revalued, an arbitrage is created within exchangeable value or price; thus creating economic opportunity for any one whom physically holds such an adjusted sovereign debt instrument; and should they desire to redeem the currency in a bank, they can receive the difference as profit… or loss depending on which currency is held.

Now it is true some currencies will revalue up, while others will revalue down. And a few will even collapse and need to be taken out of circulation slowly like the ECB’s Euro and Federal Reserve’s USD; some are most certainly to spike much higher, like the Zimbabwe Dollar, which is scheduled to revalue as many as fifteen decimal places since 2009.

Yet in the end, most will ultimately readjust unnoticed, with a select few not adjusting at all because they never left the gold standard measurement of value.

A tattooed number, a computer chip under the skin, or something more subtle? It's one of the most misinterpreted prophecies in all of the Bible - yet it is so important to correctly understand this subject. But in studying the mark of the beast, we must address some very sensitive issues, naming names and being specific. This is not a popular thing today, but we must be firm because God loves His people and He wants them to know the truth. This message is not ours, but Jesus'. And with eternal death facing those who receive the mark, it would be a crime to not help Him deliver this message. An Urgent Reminder We learned from Study Guide 2 that a terrible conflict is in progress between God and the devil. It has raged through the centuries since Lucifer, heaven's most powerful angel, rebelled against God. With the angels who joined him, he attempted to overcome God and seize control of the universe. God and the loyal angels had no choice but to eject Lucifer and his angels from heaven. Lucifer, who became known as the devil and Satan, was infuriated. 1. In order to know what the "mark" is, we must first identify the beast. How does the Bible describe the beast?

Answer:   Revelation 13:1-8, 16-18 provides 11 identifying characteristics. They are listed below:

A. Rises from sea (verse 1).

B. Composite of the four beasts of Daniel chapter 7 (verse 2).

C. Dragon gives it power and authority (verse 2).

D. Receives a deadly wound (verse 3).

E. Deadly wound healed (verse 3).

F. Strong political power (verses 3, 7).

G. Strong religious power (verses 3, 8).

H. Guilty of blasphemy (verses 1, 5, 6).

I. Wars with and overcomes the saints (verse 7).

J. Rules for 42 months (verse 5).

K. Has mysterious number 666 (verse 18).

Do some of these points have a familiar ring? Certainly! We encountered many of them earlier when we studied about the Antichrist in Daniel chapter 7. The "beast" of Revelation 13 is simply another name for the "Antichrist," which we learned from Daniel 7 is the papacy.

Prophecies of Daniel and Revelation often cover the same ground as prior prophecies, but each time new features are added that help make the prophecies certain. So expect to learn some new things about the Antichrist from this Study Guide. Now let's consider, one by one, the 11 points that describe the beast.

A. It would rise from the sea (Revelation 13:1).

The sea (or water) in prophecy refers to people, or a populated area (Revelation 17:15). So the beast, or Antichrist, would arise from amid the established nations of the then-known world. The papacy, as we all know, arose in western Europe, so it fits this point.

A Word of Explanation

In harmony with God's command to honor all people (1 Peter 2:17), we pause here to recognize the papacy for her many good deeds and activities. Her hospitals, orphanages, care for the poor, homes for unwed mothers, and care for the aged are appreciated universally. She can honestly be lauded for many things. But, like all other organizations, she has also made mistakes. God pinpoints some of her errors in Revelation. The Lord, who blesses and comforts, must sometimes chasten and correct. Please ask His Spirit to speak to you as you study this crucial topic.

B. It would be a composite of the four beasts of Daniel chapter 7 (Revelation 13:2).

The four beasts of Daniel 7 are depicted as part of Antichrist, or the beast, because the papacy incorporated pagan beliefs and practices from all four empires. She clothed them in spiritual garb and spread them to the world as Christian teachings. Here is one of many supporting statements from history: "In a certain respect, she [the papacy] has copied her organization from that of the Roman Empire, has preserved and made fruitful the philosophical intuitions of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, borrowed from both Barbarians and the Byzantine Roman Empire, but always remains herself, thoroughly digesting all elements drawn from external sources." 1 This point definitely fits the papacy.

C. The beast must receive its power, seat (capital), and authority from the dragon (Revelation 13:2).

To identify the dragon, we go to Revelation chapter 12, where God's end-time church is pictured as a pure woman. In prophecy, a pure woman represents God's true people or church (Jeremiah 6:2 Isaiah 51:16). (In Study Guide 23, we will present a detailed study of God's end-time church of Revelation chapter 12. Study Guide 22 explains Revelation chapters 17 and 18, where fallen churches are symbolized by a fallen mother and her fallen daughters.) The pure woman is portrayed as pregnant and about to deliver. The dragon crouches nearby, hoping to "devour" the baby at birth. However, when the baby is born He evades the dragon, fulfills His mission, and then ascends to heaven. Obviously the baby is Jesus, whom Herod tried to destroy by killing all the babies in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:16). So the dragon represents pagan Rome, of which Herod was a king. The power behind Herod's plot was, of course, the devil (Revelation 12:7-9). Satan acts through various governments to accomplish his ugly work in this case, pagan Rome.

We will quote just two supportive references from history, though there are many: (1) "The Roman Church ... pushed itself into the place of the Roman World-Empire, of which it is the actual continuation. ...The Pope ... is Caesar's successor." 2 (2) "The mighty Catholic Church was little more than the Roman Empire baptised. Rome was transformed as well as converted. The very capital of the old Empire became the capital of the Christian Empire. The office of Pontifex Maximus was continued in that of Pope." 3 So this point also fits the papacy. She received her capital city and power from pagan Rome.

D. It would receive a deadly wound (Revelation 13:3).

The deadly wound was inflicted when Napoleon's general, Alexander Berthier, entered Rome and took Pope Pius VI captive in February of 1798. Napoleon decreed that at the death of the pope, the papacy would be discontinued. The pope died in France in August of 1799. "Half Europe thought ... that without the Pope the Papacy was dead." 4 So this point also fits the papacy.

E. The deadly wound would be healed, and the entire world would give homage to the beast (Revelation 13:3).

Since its healing, the strength of the papacy has grown and increased until today she is one of the most powerful religio-political organizations and influence-centers in the world. Malachi Martin, consummate Vatican insider and intelligence expert, reveals the following in his best-selling book The Keys of This Blood 5 (page numbers in parentheses):

He is as determined to be world ruler as was Constantine in his day (49). He is protected by four governments (120). He is the best-known person of the 20th century (123). He is personal friends with the leaders of 91 countries (490). People of the world seem to him ready for strong worldwide moral government with control (160). Sixteen thousand journalists covered his American visit (490).

ABOUT THE PAPACY:

The American ambassador says the Vatican is unmatched as a "listening post" (120). The Vatican knows by Saturday what will happen on Monday anywhere in the world (439). Papal structure is prepared for worldwide rule now (143).

Obviously, the wound is healed and the eyes of the nations are upon the Vatican, so this point also fits the papacy.

F. It would become a strong political power (Revelation 13:3, 7).

H. It would be guilty of blasphemy (Revelation 13:5, 6).

The papacy is guilty of blasphemy because her priests claim to forgive sins and her popes claim to be Christ.

I. It would war with and persecute the saints (Revelation 13:7).

The papacy did persecute and destroy millions of saints during the Dark Ages.

J. It would reign for 42 months (Revelation 13:5).

The papacy reigned for 42 prophetic months, which equals 1,260 years, from A.D. 538-1798.

Points H through J also clearly fit the papacy. We touched on them only briefly here because they were covered thoroughly in Study Guide 15, question 8, items E, G, and H.

K. It would have the mysterious number 666 (Revelation 13:18).

This verse says, "It is the number of a man," and Revelation 15:2 says it is "the number of his name." What man do you think of when you think of the papacy? Naturally, we all think of the pope. What is his official name? Here is a Catholic quote: "The title of the pope of Rome is "Vicarius Filii Dei" (English: "Vicar of the Son of God").6 Malachi Martin, in The Keys of This Blood, uses the same title for the pope on pages 114, 122. A footnote for Revelation 13:18 in some Douay [Catholic] versions of the Bible says, "The numeral letters of his name shall make up this number."

Again, the papacy fits the identification point. The beast with the "mark" is the papacy. No other power in history could possibly fit these divine descriptive points. Now that we have positively identified the beast, we can discover her mark, or symbol of authority. But first, let's look at God's sign of authority.

2. What is God's mark, or symbol, of authority?

"I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them." Ezekiel 20:12. "It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth." Exodus 31:17.

Answer:   God is saying in the texts above that He gave us His Sabbath as a glorious sign of His power to create and His power to sanctify (convert and save) us. In the Bible, the words seal, sign, mark, and token are used interchangeably.7 God's sign, the Sabbath, represents His holy power to rule as Creator and Saviour. Revelation 7:1-3 says it will be written upon the foreheads (minds, Hebrews 10:16) of His people. It will signify that they are owned by Him and have His character. Hebrews 4:4-10 confirms this by saying that when we enter His rest (receive salvation), we should keep His seventh-day Sabbath holy as a symbol, or mark, of salvation. True Sabbath-keeping signifies that a person has surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and is willing to follow wherever Jesus leads.

Since the symbol, or mark, of God's authority and power is His holy Sabbath day, it seems likely that the symbol, or mark, of God's challenger, the beast, might also involve a holy day. Let's see if it does.

3. What does the papacy say is her symbol, or mark, of authority?

Answer:   Notice the following section from a Catholic catechism:

"Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?"

"Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her - she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority."8

So the papacy is here saying that it changed Sabbath to Sunday and that virtually all churches accepted the new holy day. Thus, the papacy claims that Sunday as a holy day is the mark, or symbol, of her power and authority.

4. Did God predict such a change in Scripture?

Answer:   Yes! In describing the Antichrist in Daniel 7:25, God said it would "think to change times and laws."

A. How has the papacy tried to change God's laws? In three different ways: In her catechisms she has (1) omitted the second commandment against veneration of images, and (2) shortened the fourth (Sabbath) commandment from 94 words to just eight. The Sabbath commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) clearly specifies Sabbath as the seventh day of the week. As changed by the papacy, the commandment reads: "Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day." Written thus, it can refer to any day. And, finally, she (3) divided the tenth commandment into two commandments.

B. How has the papacy attempted to change God's times? In two ways: (1) She has changed the time of the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day. (2) She has also changed God's "timing" for the beginning and closing hours of the Sabbath. Instead of counting the Sabbath day from sundown Friday night to sundown Saturday night as God mandates (Leviticus 23:32), she adopted the pagan Roman custom of counting the day from midnight Saturday night to midnight Sunday night. God predicted these "changes" would be attempted by the beast, or Antichrist.

Notice the following section from a Catholic catechism:

"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?

Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday." 9

Here is another Catholic statement: "The Church is above the Bible and this transference of Sabbath observance from Saturday to Sunday is proof positive of that fact." 10

The papacy is saying in these references that its successful change of Sabbath observance to Sunday worship is proof that its authority is greater, or "above," Scripture.

5. How could anyone dare attempt to change God's holy day?

Answer:   We ask the papacy, "Did you really change Sabbath to Sunday?"

She replies, "Yes, we did. It is our symbol, or mark, of authority and power."

We ask, "How could you even think of doing that?"

It's a pertinent question. But the question the papacy officially asks Protestants is even more pertinent. Please read it carefully:

"You will tell me that Saturday was the Jewish Sabbath, but that the Christian Sabbath has been changed to Sunday. Changed! but by whom? Who has authority to change an express commandment of Almighty God? When God has spoken and said, Thou shalt keep holy the seventh day, who shall dare to say, Nay, thou mayest work and do all manner of worldly business on the seventh day but thou shalt keep holy the first day in its stead? This is a most important question, which I know not how you can answer. You are a Protestant, and you profess to go by the Bible and the Bible only and yet in so important a matter as the observance of one day in seven as a holy day, you go against the plain letter of the Bible, and put another day in the place of that day which the Bible has commanded.

The command to keep holy the seventh day is one of the ten commandments you believe that the other nine are still binding who gave you authority to tamper with the fourth? If you are consistent with your own principles, if you really follow the Bible and the Bible only, you ought to be able to produce some portion of the New Testament in which this fourth commandment is expressly altered." 11

Tragically, both Catholicism and Protestantism stand guilty before the judgment bar of heaven for rejecting God's holy Sabbath, His sacred sign of identification.

6. What solemn warnings has God given regarding His law and His sign, or mark?

Answer:   A. God warns religious leaders against causing people to stumble by saying that some commandments do not matter (Malachi 2:7-9). For example, some ministers teach, "It doesn't matter what day you keep holy."

B. God warns people who want their ministers to preach smooth fables rather than the truth about His law (Isaiah 30:9, 10).

C. God warns people about hardening their hearts against the truth of His law (Zechariah 7:12).

D. God warns people who say it would seem "strange" to keep God's lawlike the Sabbath, for example (Hosea 8:12).

E. God states that the upheaval, tragedy, problems, and woes of earth come because people refuse to follow His law, and have even tried to change it (Isaiah 24:4-6).

F. God warns religious leaders who refuse to preach the prophecies of the end time (Isaiah 29:10, 11).

G. God solemnly warns that leaders who teach there is really no difference between sacred things (such as God's holy Sabbath) and common things (such as Sunday) will face His indignation (Ezekiel 22:26, 31).

7. Revelation 13:16 says people will receive the mark of the beast in the forehead or in the hand. What does this mean?

Answer:   The forehead represents the mind (Hebrews 10:16). A person will be marked in the forehead by a decision to keep Sunday as a holy day. The hand is a symbol of work (Ecclesiastes 9:10). A person will be marked in the hand by working on God's holy Sabbath or by going along with Sunday laws for practical reasons (job, family, etc.). The sign, or mark, for either God or the beast will be invisible to people. You will, in essence, mark yourself by accepting either God's sign or mark, the Sabbath, or the beast's mark, Sunday. Though invisible to men, God will know who has which mark (2 Timothy 2:19).

8. According to Isaiah 58:1, 13, 14, what decisive message does God deliver to His people in the last days?

"Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression." "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, ... Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord." Isaiah 58:1, 13, 14.

Answer:   He says, show "my people" that they are (innocently perhaps) sinning because they are trampling on My holy day, and ask them to quit breaking My Sabbath so I can bless them. Speak loudly so they will hear you!

Notice that the third angel of Revelation 14:9-12, who brings the message about the mark of the beast, speaks with a loud voice also (verse 9). The message is too important to treat as ordinary. It's a life-or-death issue. Jesus says His sheep, or people, will follow Him when He calls them. (John 10:16, 27).

Answer:   No! No one will have the mark of the beast until Sunday worship becomes an issue forced by law. At that time (just ahead), those who decide to follow the false teachings of the beast and worship on Sunday (the beast's counterfeit holy day) will receive the mark of the beast.

Those who follow Jesus and obey His truth will keep His Sabbath day holy and receive His mark. Those who expect to refuse the beast's mark in the future must step under Jesus' Sabbath banner now. His power is available to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32). Without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). With Him, all things are possible (Mark 10:27).

Answer:   The answer is threefold and very clear:

A. Those who have God's mark, or sign (His Sabbath), in their foreheads (Revelation 7:3).

B. Those who refused to identify with the beast or his image and who refused to have his mark or name in their foreheads (Revelation 15:2).

C. The people who today, and for eternity, follow where Jesus leads, trusting Him fully in everything (Revelation 14:4). There is no other way.

"He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12.

Answer:   What a fantastic promise! If we follow Him, we will not end up in darkness but will, instead, have glorious truth. Nothing could be more exciting! Further, following Him and keeping His Sabbath will put God's mark on our foreheads and protect us from the dreadful plagues (Psalms 91:10) that will fall upon the disobedient (Revelation chapter 16). It also marks us as ready for translation at Jesus' second coming. What blessed protection and assurance God has offered us!

Baptist: "There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. ... It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week. ... Where can the record of such a transaction be found?
